Traditional Jamicon aluminum electrolytic capacitors use a liquid electrolyte and offer broad capacitance and voltage ranges at a cost-effective price. They are commonly selected for bulk filtering, smoothing, energy storage, and general-purpose power circuits. Conductive polymer capacitors use a solid conductive material that typically provides lower ESR and stronger high-frequency ripple performance. Hybrid capacitors combine polymer and liquid-electrolyte characteristics to balance ESR, leakage current, voltage capability, and endurance.
Jamicon manufactures aluminum electrolytic, conductive polymer aluminum solid, and conductive polymer hybrid capacitors. Available formats include radial-leaded, surface-mount, snap-in, and screw-terminal configurations for different voltage, capacitance, ripple-current, and mounting requirements.
The Jamicon TL series is a strong candidate for switching power supplies because it combines low impedance, high ripple-current capability, 105°C operation, and endurance ratings from 1,000 to 5,000 hours. It is also designed for adapters, inverters, communications equipment, monitors, and audio-video systems. For applications requiring longer endurance, the TF series provides high-ripple performance with ratings of 8,000 to 10,000 hours at 105°C. The final selection should account for input or output position, capacitance, rated voltage, ripple frequency, ESR, ambient temperature, physical size, and expected service life.
