And that’s a wrap! Electronica 2024 in Munich, Germany, has come to a close. From November 12th to 15th, industry leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts from across the globe came together to celebrate Electronica’s 60th anniversary and share new developments within the realm of electronics.
This year, 3,450 exhibitors and 70,000 visitors from over 100 countries met to discuss emerging topics, including artificial intelligence (AI), automotive technology, industrial IoT, wireless connectivity, embedded systems, power management, and sustainability. Under the motto “Leading the Way to the All-Electric Society,” industry leaders hosted conferences and forums, sharing their knowledge and expertise on combating supply chain challenges and discussing scientific breakthroughs.
Sourceability was proud to be among thousands of talented and innovative distributors. At booth #379 in Hall B5, Sourceability experts spoke with dozens of industry players, learning about the challenges impacting their organizations and offering solutions. We here at Sourceability were very excited to learn about improvements in sustainable technologies and advancements in AI at Electronica 2024 and how we can help organizations move toward achieving similar goals.
One of the standout themes at Electronica 2024 was the growing emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency. With increasing pressure to reduce global carbon emissions, many exhibitors highlighted innovations in power management, energy-efficient semiconductor devices, and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.
Sourceability’s Senior Vice President, Revenue, Alon Balash, discussed the importance of communication during the first day of Electronica 2024. With the year almost over, organizations are finalizing their strategies for 2025 and preparing for the upcoming changes within the market over the next year. Some of the most significant trends expected over the next year are the ongoing popularity of generative AI and other models, new tariffs as President-elect Donald Trump in the U.S. takes office, and the rising occurrence of component unavailability.
Balash stressed during Electronica that Sourceability strives to understand customers' problems and how the organization can develop solutions to address these issues. This will be a significant business prerogative for Sourceability in 2025.
Over the week, Sourceability’s Senior Vice President, Digital Transformation, Rob Picken, shared his expertise during Electronica on the rising challenges of component unavailability and Sourceability’s digital solutions to combat these problems. Picken stated that transparency was one of the critical points of information gleaned from attendees about what they felt they were missing over the last two years.
“In the shortage market, they couldn’t see what was available, where it was, and what they were competing with,” Picken said. “Now, in today’s market where excess materials are the consideration, customers are looking for transparency as to where they can move their parts and whether the pricing they want to extract is accurate and feasible.”
Sourceability is working hard to provide digital solutions to customers that bring a high level of transparency that can be viewed in a simple, usable, and accessible way. This allows organizations, procurement teams, and other industry players to make better-informed decisions quickly.
Sourceability plans to bring even more solutions to its customers that solve complex supply chain problems throughout 2025. Picken detailed Sourceability’s plans to improve its online SaaS platform, Datalynq, which gives customers enormous amounts of market intelligence data that can understandably solve transparency issues.
Similarly, Sourceability is working to expand its sourcing organization to offer more options and opportunities to customers. Over the next year, Sourceability plans to continue adding experienced and passionate salespeople to its growing team so that its clients can receive all the benefits of a digital and traditional business.
Electronica 2024 confirmed that the electronics industry is poised for continued growth and transformation, specifically within sustainable technology and AI-driven advancements. We here at Sourceability can’t wait to see what the next year has in store and what new trends will emerge in the industry. See you next time at Electronica 2026!
